4th INTENSIVE BALKAN TELEMEDICINE AND E-HEALTH SEMINAR, NOVEMBER 19-20, 2010, PODGORICA, MONTENEGRO

The 4th Intensive Balkan Telemedicine and e-Health Seminar in Podgorica, Montenegro was a continuation of telemedicine and e-Health education. This activity was attended from the Albanian team including Director from MoH, regional telemedicine coordinators and IVeH staff as well, totaling 11 people. Dr. Miodrag Radunovic, Minister of Health, opened the seminar and spoke of the need for telemedicine in Montenegro. Dr. Rifat Latifi, President of IVeH greeted over 100 participants and gave the welcoming remarks. The international world-renowned seminar faculty, led by Dr. Latifi, Dr. Ronald Merrell, and Mr. Charles R. Doarn, provided the participants a comprehensive curriculum on Telemedicine and e-Health divided in four informative sessions. A round table discussion ensued during the afternoon session on telemedicine in the Balkans with speakers from Albania, Kosova, Macedonia, and Montenegro. A key objective of this seminar was to introduce the concepts of telemedicine in Montenegro and begin building a system for improving healthcare in the region. This Seminar was sponsored entirely by the MOH of Montenegro and industry donations.
