Telemedicine Center of Albania

The Telemedicine Center of Albania was presentet in an opening ceremony on September 27, 2011. The ceremony was organized by IVeH. The event was attended by numerous dignitaries including: the Prime Minister of Albania, H.E. Sali Berisha; the Ambassador of United States to Albania, H.E. Alexander Arvizu; the Minister of Health, Dr. Petrit Vasili and the Deputy Minister of Innovation and Communication Technology, Mr. Visho Ajazaj. The audience included representatives of the professorship and senior management of the Tirana University Hospital Center “Mother Theresa” (TUHC) and representatives from different governmental institutions. The virtual audience included Project Director, Prof. Rifat Latifi, who attending from Baltimore, USA and Prof. Ronald Merrell, from Virginia Commonwealth University. Also attending virtually were the directors and senior staff of the six telemedicine centers including the Obstetric and Gynecologic Hospital “Queen Geraldine”, and the Regional Hospitals of Kukes, Shkoder, Durres, Korçe and Vlore.
